So it's summer and you want to hit the beach and every pair of short you own makes your legs look skinnier than they really are( probably than how you like to believe.) Life can be a little hectic for a skinny guy who wants to look good because for some reasons the stores never stock enough of our sizes, so believe it or not, when it comes to men who have more bone that flesh, we fall on the minority group. Sad isn't it?

Today i want to share the secretes on how to dress and style your wardrobe to complement your small frame and abundance of visible bones. I remember growing up loving fashion so much, trust me, i was that kid who had so many ideas but often got disappointed when i went to the stores and had to pick out something that was oversize. My mom didn't give a crap about alterations, i mean which six year old went to do alterations on their outfits anyway? certainly not kids on my side of Africa.

1. BEFRIEND AFFORDABLE EUROPEAN DESIGNERS.

This is actually very true, most of the affordable European Fashion designers like Zara worldwide, H&M, Top Man and Uniqlo always have variety of sizes in their stores, you will not miss a thing, from a size 28 to 25 sometimes even lower. Another bonus when you shop from these stores is that you can be trendy, wear quality clothes are still not spend a fortune, plus, they are the quickest in stocking new collections from time to time.

For those skinny guys in Africa like me, we have shops like Mr.Price, Identity and splash. I know that most high fashion people don't like shopping on these shops with the fear of dressing on something that ten other people already have but here is the trick, buy, mix it with another brand or go to the tailors and edit it to your liking.

2. SKIN TIGHT FIT IS THE WRONG FIT.

I don't really know where we get this, but growing up, i mean when i was old enough to have contacts of tailors in my phone-book, i literally used to slim out every piece of cloth i owned. For some reason we feel that skinny people only look good on skinny clothes and in the real sense that is wrong. I think we should dress in things that doesn't suffocate us or expose all curves of the bones we possess, it is just not cool, rock-star or not, it should really stop!

3. DON'T ADD FLESH MY DROWNING YOURSELF IN FABRIC.

For the love of God! some people are cray cray... I've met so many people who find the need to hide in the closet because of their weight, the cant stand the idea of people given them that eye that screams, "Boy you need to eat" so what they do i just drown themselves in layers and layers of fabric just to add flesh on their system. Well it could help, but i think it is important for you to embrace the body frame you where born with and just love it.

Some people might ignore the fact that some men get insecure of their weight because we think it is only logical for a fat person to feel insecure, but guess what, even us who cant gain weight we get bullied too, we are given awkward stares when we walk in some places and everyone just wants to shove food down our throats. So yeah, embrace it and stay stylish.

Special thanks to Top Man , H&M , Uniqlo , Zara World Wide
Floral prints have been very popular for men this year and i couldn't be more grateful with the positive response men have shown towards it this season. Roses, Jasmins and Tulips have been seen on most of men's shirts, shorts, underwear, ties and trousers. This has been my favorite trend so far and i will probably carry it forward to the next seasons and besides, it is always summer in Africa so floral all the for me.

When I first laid my eyes on this collection, the first thing that came to my my mind was oh!!! Africa... but i looked a little closer and i was like urm maybe Asia and now i bet you can figure where the word AfroAsia came from.

This Afro Asia Bohemian collection for their Spring summer 2014 is beyond elegant and classy in its own twist. Despite the use of heavy tribal-ish prints, the structure and the layout of the outfits is both edgy and sophisticated and what i like about the lookbook is that it gives a chance to all ethnic groups to imagine themselves wearing their clothes and actually pulling it off successfully. That is a major plus.

Dent De Man is all about fishing ones personal individuality and actually standing out. Men who are risk takers would actually find these designs and prints very tempting to spend all their dimes for.

Though the brand is new, i am hoping that it gets enough support to turn the wheels around and introduce the world to more colors. Africa is already doing these prints and hopefully the rest of the world will fall in love with them the way Africa did. It is about time we break the walls that divide formal from casual wear and tribal from modern contemporary wear.

Oliver Spring/Summer 2014 is simply beautiful and what most men would want to be wearing in spring and summer. I am in love with the collection...sorry...i am obsessed with the collection.

Just like the Berluti Spring/Summer 2014, Oliver also offers clothes with happy and clean colors that would make any man look absolutely classy, chic and fit for the season. The pop of color used in the look book for the campaign is absolutely amazing, i wouldn't personally care if i walked down a restaurant wearing exactly what was shown on the campaign advert... i mean what is there to change? if it is already 101% flawless.

People would obviously say, "Shut up Douglas, there is nothing special, you probably blogged about it because you have a big and undeniable crush on Yiorgos Karavas."
Mmmh...well...i mean, yes he gorgeous but honestly the focal point here is the collection. What i love about it is the whole mix of casual and formal together, a person owning this wouldnt be seen awkward wearing the pieces at night or during the day. What makes this my prefered spring/ summer collection compared to Berluti is the fit of the clothes, i know how rediculous it sounds but hey, can't i make a personal opinion? oh well.

I am not so crazy about the shoes, they are what i have been seeing a lot over the past years, they are ideal for the summer feel but i guess they are way too common for us  to be wowed about them...RIGHT???. So for Berluti two tone shoes, they had their A-game there.

For all the fashion lover's, my handsome men, if you were sick and i was your doctor, this would be the prescription i would give you. It's not too much and not too less. For all lovers of style that comes with a pinch of elegance and simplicity, S.Oliver Spring/Summer 2014 is a collection dedicated to you.

It is almost 7AM here...i had to wake up at 6 to mail a job application letter to a company i want to work for... however crazy it may sound, i think i should really get a 9 to 5 before boredom slays the life out of me. This week has been a frustrating week for me, i am not throwing all my problems to you and neither am i making excuses for how lazy i have become in updating but seriously, i haven't met my Boo Boo for the third week now, i have finished two boxes of snickers in three days, i haven't had any alcohol in my system for about three months and i have moved the dates to college even further...enough with that now.

Today i want to talk about my week obsession backpack, and yeees i know the week is not over yet but i anxiously wanted to post this. It is the Yuketen triangle backpack made of heather wool. I obviously know what most of the people are thinking right now, what the eff'n is Yuketen, who gives his brand such a tacky name, WTF! but guys, this bag is chic, especially the gray heather woolen one, its beautifully styled and simply stunning.

Today its all about knowing how to make a statement with little things. Sometimes it's not always about putting on that outfit from the latest collection or having the most trending hair cut that your best celebrity was seen wearing. There is more to style than just looking good or trendy.

I believe style is all about individuality. There are little things you can add up to your outfit that will make you different from the rest and i guess that is what keeps fashion interesting and good for the eyes to see. For instance, on a rainy day, you could be wearing the most trending jacket but something so little as a stylish umbrella could make you stand out from the rest of the men.

                                                                   Stylish Umbrellas.
Well, the image above should not necessarily be what you consider stylish or what your style is, but the point is that, if you see the importance of style and being a stylish man then little things that we ignore could actually make a difference and channel your individuality.

Statement Watches.
I have come across a lot of them in different blogs. They are usually of unique design, bold and very expensive. But what makes a statement watch different from the usual ordinary watches that we are used to is the craft that it is made, the distinct look of the design and its status.

As i said earlier, they are yes beautiful, stylish, and expensive so investing on one could be better than owning five that would live you struggling for your next rent payment.

Stylish Masculine Bracelets.
I guess the reason i called them masculine is because a lot of guys i met hate the idea of having anything on their wrists which doesn't tell time. Masculine bracelets are designed focusing on the definition of masculinity and even the materials used are those that i could call "Guy Friendly." Most of these bracelets are made of leather, metal or combination of both. I think these are little essentials needed in spicing up your style and pulling forward the individuality in it.

The collection is simply clean, sophisticated and dapper than dapper...i mean, seriously! it is absolutely everything a man would want to have in his wardrobe.

Saltori, the genius behind all of it drew his inspiration from French men worker's uniform which were made of cotton drill made out of Japaniese indigo cotton yarn that had been bleached before woven and dyed.

The collection features easy on the eye fabrics with enough colours to make the rainbow shy. Saltori also pairs the clothes with two tone shoes inspired by the French Municipal workers of the mid-twentieth century.

The lookbook below is for you to draw the elements of style from this collection and hopefully spice up your selection of outfits and color coordination for this spring. Enjoy!
